Water Bottle Rocket Workshop

rocket landing

This great event has been around for a very long time for good reason. It's a ton of fun, and a real crowd pleaser at tournaments.  If you've been in this event before, you know it isn't as easy as it looks.

At this informative workshop we discussed:

  - The basics of rocket design,

  - The physics of why your rocket behaves as it does,
and choices for affecting that behavior.

  - Alternatives for acquiring launch equipment,
if your school doesn't already have some.

   - Online sources for information.

This workshop was presented by Macomb Science Olympiad Board Member Manish Patel in Clinton Township, Michigan. Technical input and much of the material for the slide presentation was provided by Bruce Christensen of Ohio and Gopi Seenivsan from Michigan. Another shining example of the Science Olympiad family sharing resources.
