Rocket Launch Criteria
NASA has launch weather guidelines, and so do we.
At 7pm the night before the tournament, we look at the hourly forecast for the beginning of launch time. Launches will be cancelled if the forecast matches ANY of these criteria:
- Ambient temp will be < 32 degrees
- Wind speed will be > 20 mph
- Real Feel temp < 24 degrees
- > 50% chance of precipitation
At launch time, we may still cancel if:
- There is lightning in the area
- Precipitation is active and will continue

The decision to cancel a launch is not an easy one.
We have learned that it is impossible to conduct a consistent and fair tournament when launching in substandard weather conditions.
We will do our best to provide an alternate launch date.
This tournament is open to all registered teams
in the L'Anse Creuse school district.

Tournament Policies
Alternate Team Members
-
Alternate team members may participate by either being a "tag-along" additional member of an event team or as a complete additional event team for any given event.
-
When there are more event teams than are officially registered from a school, they are labeled "B", "C", etc.
-
Alternate team members may "tag along" with the A team for one event and the B team for another event, but not for the same event.
Teams
-
The registration of the participants from the Primary team and Second team should not overlap.
Awards
-
Teams registered with Macomb are tallied for awards purposes. This includes all Macomb Primary ("A") teams and the Macomb Second ("B") teams.
-
All competitors from a school for a particular event will win a ribbon up through 5th place.
-
The top 2 teams will be awarded a trophy, based on the total of the event scores.
General
-
Parents and Event Coaches are not allowed in closed event rooms during or after competition.
-
Head Coaches will receive ZipGrade forms and score sheets at the end of the tournament. These should be retained, awaiting release of the respective Category Indexes after the last practice tournament.
