39th Macomb Elementary Tournament
Saturday, May 11, 2024
Macomb Community College, South Campus
In the Elementary Division, the term "Alternate" refers to team members who are not registered members of the team.
We no longer use the term "Alternate" to refer to a team that is in addition to a school's Primary team.
Those teams, not surprisingly, are now called "Second Teams". Second teams are officially registered and issued a unique team number.
Each District (practice) tournament has its own policies regarding the participation options for Alternate team members.
The tournament schedule is a time map for when your team will compete in each event. For instance, in the event A is for Anatomy from 9:00 - 9:30 it lists "45-66". All teams in that range have a reserved spot to compete.
Your team is expected to compete in more than one event at a time, but individual students obviously can not, so be careful when assigning events. You may want to avoid adjacent time assignments for individual students to make certain they can arrive on time and ready to compete.
Most teams will have the same conflicts. In most cases, the pairings listed below should not be allowed for an individual student. It is also possible for your team to have a few other conflicts (e.g., Crash Car build) so investigate your team schedule thoroughly.
Quite a few events are listed as "self-schedule". We guarantee times for each team in each self-schedule event that will not conflict. We will collect and publish this information later in the season.
For many reasons, the schedule will not be changed, including to accomodate the preference of an individual team. Swapping time slots with another team is also not permitted. Intentionally attending the wrong slot on the schedule may disqualify your event team. Please don't.
Wish your Science Olympian or team “Good luck” with a ShoutOut! in the 2024 Tournament program.
