Rocket Launch Criteria
NASA has launch weather guidelines, and so do we.
At 7pm the night before the tournament, we look at the hourly forecast for the beginning of launch time. Launches will be cancelled if the forecast matches ANY of these criteria:
- Ambient temp will be < 32 degrees
- Wind speed will be > 20 mph
- Real Feel temp < 24 degrees
- > 50% chance of precipitation
At launch time, we may still cancel if:
- There is lightning in the area
- Precipitation is active and will continue

The decision to cancel a launch is not an easy one.
We have learned that it is impossible to conduct a consistent and fair tournament when launching in substandard weather conditions.
We will do our best to provide an alternate launch date.
This tournament is open to all registered teams who are not in
the Chippewa Valley, L'Anse Creuse or Utica school districts.
